Single Moms (Luke 10:38-42) 

Choose the one thing that can't be taken away. 

Praying and studying is the key to maintaining peace and comfort in your home, on your job in whatever you do. Martha would get bothered and anxious about what needed to be done; the task list.  And she would lose her peace about things of this world, not being the sweetest person to be around. But Mary chose prayer and to sit at the feet and get some WORD into her SPIRIT.  And it made her a bold, powerful, compassionate, peaceable and joyful type of woman.  Jesus gave moms Power and Authority just as HE gave to the disciples as HE sent them out in two's. Make sure your team "Mary Mary" (girlfriends, shopping buddies, gym friend etc.,) is undergirded with a prayer life and the WORD of GOD. Get you a "PFF" ( praying friend forever).  Or you may find yourself frustrated, fretting, worried, fearful, and doubtful about who GOD really is and what HE can do in your life.  Remember in the previous scriptures HE had given Power to the disciples over devils and to cure disease. And when your are a lamb among wolves, you need someone who can see and fight on your behalf and not cast you to them. Two are always better than one.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

"I'm Just Saying . . . What?"

 "I'm Just Saying . . . What?"

 Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

     We use the slang I'm just saying" or we post and text "IJS" these letters all the time. But what are we really saying?  I used to speak a lot of "positive" Words of encouragement.  And people would say "Oh, you're just too nice." And after a long journey through "Life's" tough and demanding rituals my "kind" Words began to diminish and lose it's flavor. But thank God for Jesus. I'm glad now that I can be compassionate towards people who can effortlessly blast you with their mouths destructively. I see how they may have gotten to their hopeless place of possibly no return. There is hope. It's easy being around that type pf energy. It is a painful place I'm sure, especially with no recourse. I'm grateful to have God's Son Jesus who re-redeemed me. So now I find myself back in a "love stride" again. I've learned how to Love by loving on Him and him. (Scripture Matthew 4:4 Man shouldn't live on bread alone, but by every Word that  proceeds out the mouth of God). "Take it back", a kind lady used to say. She said it a little brashly. But  basically she was giving me what I had given her. She was encouraging me to go back and change the Words that I had negatively spoken or that could potentially become my future.  I  told her all the time when she spoke bad things to remember (Scripture Proverbs 18:21) Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. ).  She had started to change her Words and to believe while I was taking on her old negative mentality saying unproductive Words. Right there at that moment we cleaned up that "verbal sabotage." Let's stop assassinating our beautiful and bright destinies with our mouths." Remember the scriptures (I Chronicles 29:13-14) ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. And remember that EVERY WORD that we speak also belongs to GOD. And now we should be offering to HIM HIS WORDS of BLESSINGS not death. After all HE has already created them in us. So what are we going to do with them? Will we create LIFE or DEATH?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 New International Version (NIV)  11. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Jochebed

 (Moses' Mother)

     Almost nameless and yet she is unforgettable. Her name was Jochebed meaning "Yahweh is glory. Daughter of Levi wife of Amram. Mother of Arron Miriam and Moses. Jochebed is a godly, stern, sight to be seen.  The Proverb woman is a  symbol of a great woman. But what about an everyday ordinary woman who is not expected to do something "great" or significant that can be nationwide newsworthy? What about a kind of mother who resists the normal? What about a kind of mother that doesn't take no for an answer? What about kind of mother that fights with an defying kind of love? Even in spite of all of the tumultuous surroundings with the Pharaoh upset and wanting to kill the male children, Jochebed was incredibly stronger than the normal mother, but not without help. Something arose and emerged through Jochebed at this imperative hour of need to heed the voice of God to save her son who was being called to the nations at birth. (Jeremiah 1:5 I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. ... ). What is it that that sets Moses mother apart ? Maybe not much except that she was willing and obedient. Did she have exceptional qualities? Perhaps and if so maybe you would have heard more about her in the Bible. But that isn't the case. It had to have been the Mighty Force and Power of The Almighty. The Word of God says that His children hears His voice and they will follow (John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me).  Jochebed was positioned to hear and execute God's glorious plan for her family. It sounds like I could be writing about myself a single stay at home mother trusting God daily with difficulties that I face on occasions. It could even be talking about you. This woman hid her little male child for about 3 months. She had to be unique, patient and gentle to keep an infant hidden silent and content for that length of time.  And then Jochebed created a wood chest of bulrushes that was watertight.  So she was creative as well. But she is still not yet the talk of the town. Jochebed took that chest with her small son inside and trusted God enough to protect it from danger into the waters of the Nile River; now that's daring. And she further trusted Him to manage the overall situation. Because her young daughter watched the chest down the river from a distance while following along. She could have cried out in fear and ruined it all for Jochebed.  The daughter even trusted her  Jochebed's plan as the mother. Trusting God to this extent takes a "daring" kind of woman. Maybe the character of "daring" wasn't fully apparent in her or even known right away to all who knew her. But here was a chance for it to be fully exhibited first privately between her and God. And then to be heard about for generations and generations how this daring woman of God didn't mind taking a chance in HIS NAME.  It didn't say that she involved all of her book club buddies in on this very delicate matter. Or neither did she broadcast it on Instagram that God was about to use her and her small male child for a historical event that would change the world. 

This daring mother not only went against the orders of the Pharaoh, by Faith she put her little precious baby in a wood chest and then allowed her young daughter to participate in this incredible dangerous journey.  

And by Gods divine order Jochebed is the attending and nursing mother of now Pharaoh's daughter's (an Egyptian Princess named Bithiah, meaning daughter of Yahweh) little boy who is named "Moses".  She (Bithiah) had drawn him from the water while bathing in the Nile.  Little Moses goes back to the arms of his own phenomenal birth mother and is being nurtured by her first milk.  Moses needed some spiritual food as well as natural characteristics from his birth mother.  

It is said that the milks colostrum ("first milk) (also known to some as liquid gold) from nursing is known to strengthen the child with nutrients. But isn't it just like God to give the Spiritual milk as well in the process. Her milk needed to make a deposit of love, tenacity, power and of spiritual discernment into her child. Moses' mother Jochebed was the only woman who could feed him what God wanted to later develop further in Moses.   

Mothers, Got Milk? What's in the milk of the word that you feed your children? What are they absorbing from your "first milk", colostrum ? What do you have inside of you that your family needs to live and survive? May I suggest that when God has His hand on you to nurture a thing, He hovers over it as only a mother could. (Psalms 91:1,2,3 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence)

He will see it through.  He will get it to you even if it is by the hand or under the nose of your cunning enemy. Strategically God MASTERMINDS and maneuvers you through the enemy's camp with angels encamped around you and with miraculous results he brings you out. 

Mothers don't let the enemy intimidate you with his status or his evil powers. Your spiritual breasts are overfllowing with the milk of LIFE for your families. And you can trust that Your FATHER is making sure that HE positions them to be fed as HE BIRTHs NEW LIFE in them all. (Hebrews 4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Let Go You Are Hurting ME !

Inspired by John 4 :11

I assure you that letting go isn't easy. We have all had to let go of our favorite dresses, our children going to college, perhaps our spouses who's left to find love otherwise.  We all have had to experience the hurt of letting go. We have even had to let our small toddlers go who have just arrived into the world and it seems as though they are demanding their independence. 

 Let me go you are hurting ME. 

How did it really feel the moment you knew that you could no longer hold on or that was imperative that you take your hands off of a matter or thing?

In most cases there was some sort of hurt or disappointment. We have seen many instances that require a person to release something because the tighter that they held on the worst the situation got. 

They literally had to throw it down or let go with urgency. And not because of the pain that he or she was experiencing but because of the pain that they were applying to the thing or person that they were holding. 

Let go you are hurting me !

The grip is so tight that it is literally destroying the thing that is being held unknowingly. 

It is dying under the pressure when instead it should be receiving LIFE. 

There are other areas that we hold and cause destruction such as grudges, anger, shame your past life experiences.  It all has a debilitating effect on you and it if you continue with the grip.

God commands that we release all of the LIFE circumstances to HIM.  So that HE may breathe HIS EVERLASTING LIFE into the thing that you think that you can't live without. When in fact it is fear that is holding you from facing your bright future. 

Great things are awaiting you. There may be a new job, home, new family by marriage, new career altogether. There may also just be the simple peace or joy in your home that you've missed or unity among your family members. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against rulers in high places, principalities of darkness (Satan).
There is a scripture that says,"Forget not all of HIS BENEFITS. . . Psalm 103:1-11. And it could be so easy if we are rooted and grounded in the WORD of the LORD. We should saturate ourselves, soak, marinate our minds and hearts in GODS HOLY WORD. Therefore humble ourselves under the MIGHTY HAND of GOD and HE will exalt you in due time (I Peter 5:6). I am sure that HE is sadden and hurt by our human strength that wants to do it all on our own. 
He is waiting to lift the heavy burden, brighten your dark paths, send the devil running, fill your empty cupboard, draw LIVING WATERS to quench your thirst. And because we are fighting to hold it, HE is saying, 

"Let go you are hurting me !"
"I can set you free,  comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be will be set free."

(Isaiah 61:1) 

HE is an ALMIGHTY GOD who can do the impossible, unthinkable, the miraculous, the SUPERNATURAL !!! 

HE is an AWESOME GOD.

 God Takes The Foolish Things To Confound The Wise 

I Corinthians 1:27

Right in the middle of Paul's own writings, God shows how He (GOD) can take the foolish things and confound the wise,  I Corinthians 1:27.  Within just a few chapters in II Corinthians, Paul is found defending his person or ministry if you will. How can Paul the writer of Corinthians and many other expository books of the bible be considered a "timid" man? Remember Paul was the man blinded, a destroyer of God's people.  If we look at his writings we can believe the very opposite. It is as though he was a Christian all of his life, with years and years of experience. In fact Paul is known for being a prolific writer of many books of the Bible.  And he is known for his very powerful, explosive and weighty letters. And yet when people meet him they aren't impressed and is almost repulsed by the man that they meet.

 How could this be?  

⁷ Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? if any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
⁸ For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:
⁹ That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters.
¹⁰ For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

In the scriptures II Corinthians 10: 7-10

 Can you believe the word "contemptible" was used to describe Paul's speech and the word "weak" was used to describe his appearance; no energy?  Paul the Apostle. I'm sure you have met a person like this.  You listen to them speak and wonder how in the world could this be the person that is representing this large Fortune 500 company. They could barely even get their words out or when they did you  barely understood it or could even tolerate it. They are poorly dressed, shoulders bent over and tattered appearance, sort of broken down.  But isn't that just like GOD and HIS Awesomeness. He took a man that didn't look the part, that didn't act the part or could even be the part and made him who He (GOD) wanted him to be. He basically made Paul over and yet it wasn't visible to the eye or ears for that matter. We always make it seem as though GOD does a @MTV or @TLC What Not To Wear makeover. Or we want them to live in our gated communities, join our clubs, or shop the same boutiques.  And GOD does just the opposite in many cases. It is the "internal" man that GOD changes. And the changes are made obvious in the POWER of the DELIVERY of the GOSPEL.  We have shiny new Christians dressed in @Armani @Prada @Marc Jacobs etc., and there is not an ounce of GOD's POWER present.  And yet some have the gall to not interact with others who are not visibly able to afford the fine clothes or have a college degree who do. This is a valuable lesson for us Christians who are fortunate.  Some of us have been so blessed and are doing exceptionally well, praise GOD.  But please be very careful that you are not in the presence of God's angels unaware. Hebrews 13:2 (NIV) Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

There are people are suffering because of the very manner that you treated them. Can you recall an instance that you weren't so sweet to the sister or brother that visited your church or said hello ? You looked at how they appeared and were reluctant to even smile at them. You were afraid that you would have to entertain them further. Or you assumed that they would want to be a part of your clique and you might have made a very big mistake.  You are wise but God is wiser. 

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 

I Corinthians 13:1 

Can God use you ? 

Are you available ?

Do you even hear Him ?

You look good but . . . 

Where can you go in the Spirit?
